THURSDAY, JULY 16, 2020

For the third day in a row, a young child was killed in a gun accident.  In Commerce City, Colorado, a three-year old boy was found shot to death in an incident that involved “mishandling” of a gun.  Two siblings, ages 12 and 13, were present in the home at the time of the incident, but no parent was present.  It is not clear which child was handling the gun when it went off.

A neighbor reported that two kids ran from the house saying, “[s]omebody got shot and we ran.”  She added, ““[i]f you are going to leave your kids alone, don’t leave a gun there. And if you’re going to have a gun, keep it in a safe and don’t keep it loaded.”
