In Atlanta, Georgia, a 6-year old boy was shot and killed by a young sibling who found a gun.

“During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the siblings of the victim, ages 8 and 4, were also present during the shooting,” a police spokesman said in a news release. “Preliminary investigation and evidence produced thus far in the inquiry have led detectives to believe that the shooting was accidental by one of the siblings by an unattended weapon.”

It has not been reported whether any adults were present at the time of the shooting.  There is an ongoing investigation.  “Our hearts cry out for the family during this difficult time,” the police said.
