In Northwoods, Missouri, a 15-year old boy accidentally shot his 12-year old sister, Nakyah Durham. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy was handling a firearm when it accidentally discharged. He has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.

In Belleville, Illinois, a 3-year old found a loaded gun in his home and used it to shoot himself. The boy is in critical condition at the hospital.

And in Lubbock, Texas, John Carrasco was arrested for illegal gun possession after he accidentally shot his father in the leg. According to the report, Carrasco initially told police that his father had shot himself. For his part, Carrasco’s father reported that John had shot himself while attempting to take the gun apart.

In Springfield, Georgia, Assistant District Attorney Michael Breedon shot himself in the leg while showing a colleague his gun. According to the report, ADA Breedon was unholstering the gun in the office when it went off. His colleague apparently was considering the purchase of the same make and model of gun, so Breedon had pulled it to let the other attorney evaluate it.
