Man Fires Bullet Through Wall Injuring Family Member on Couch

In a Glendale Heights, Illinois home, Fernando Cardoso was handling a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun in his bedroom when the gun fired, sending a bullet through the wall and into the living room, striking a family member sleeping on the couch. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Cardoso has a valid FOID card. He was arrested and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.
