One Dead, Two Wounded in Gun Accidents

In Athens, Georgia, 32-year-old Casey Roy Hobbs was found dead in a pickup truck from what police say appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There was a 9mm pistol on the floorboard of the truck, and police speculate that the gun was in Hobbs’s waistband when it unintentionally fired. An autopsy will be conducted.

A man sustained life threatening injuries after being accidentally shot by his 11-year-old son in the parking lot of a children’s library in Little Rock, Arkansas. According to an internal email sent to library staff; the boy, a younger girl, and the father were in a vehicle waiting for the library to open, when the gun unintentionally discharged.

And in a Georgetown, South Carolina hospital, police found 27-year-old Charles Lowrimore with a gunshot wound to his leg. Originally he told police he got shot walking to a friend’s house, but upon further investigation, it appears he accidentally shot himself. He is wanted for filing a false police report.
