One Dead, Three Injured in Unintentional Shootings Today

In Atlanta, Georgia, a passenger in the rear seat of a vehicle accidentally discharged a gun fatally striking a 19-year-old in the back. The victim was in the vehicle with two other people and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The person handling the gun was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

A woman was injured by stray bullets that came inside a home in Nashville, Tennessee. Police believe the shots came from an altercation between two people. One of the people drove away in a truck, and when the other fired a handgun at the retreating vehicle, multiple rounds entered the home and struck the woman in the leg.

And there were two reported incidences of men who accidentally shot themselves. John Hernandez, 21, in Libertyville, Illinois, was handling a gun when he unintentionally shot himself in the leg. He was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. And in Mobile, Alabama, a 52-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after he accidentally shot himself.
