Four Unintentional Shootings Result in Four Injuries
In Hartford, Connecticut, a six-year-old boy found a gun while playing outside, brought it inside, and accidentally shot himself in the hand. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating.
A reported shooting during a burglary in Norridgewock, Maine, was later determined to be an accidental self-inflicted shooting. Responding to a 911 call that indicated a man had been shot by an intruder, a police officer found the injured man and took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the man admitted to deputies that he had accidentally shot himself.
In Waynesboro, Georgia, a 14-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment after being unintentionally shot in the leg. It was determined that Jasper Reynolds negligently discharged a firearm that struck the teen. Reynolds and another suspect have been charged in connection with the incident.
And in Towson, Maryland, a 16-year-old boy was injured in an accidental shooting at the high school. He walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body. According to a school email, the shooting was an isolated incident, and the victim was not a student of the local school system. No other details have been reported.
