Teens Playing with Guns Injure Three; Two Others Hurt in Separate Accidental Shootings
A group of teenagers were “carelessly” handling a gun in LaGrange, Georgia, when one of them, a 15-year-old, was accidentally shot in the face. He was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition. No other information is available at this time.
Another accidental shooting involving a teenager took place in St. Louis, Missouri. A 16-year-old boy was playing with a gun that fired, striking him in the hand and a 37-year-old woman in the side. They were the only ones at home at the time and both were treated for minor injuries. While investigating the incident, police were unable to find ballistic evidence.
A 4-year-old girl in Dillon, South Carolina was airlifted to the hospital after shooting herself with an unsecured gun she found at home. The girl underwent surgery, but her current condition is unknown. Police and the department of social services are investigating.
In one of the many separate shootings in Oakland, California on this day; a 29-year-old man is in stable condition after being struck in the upper torso by a stray bullet. No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate.
