On Halloween day in Bridgeport Township, Michigan, a seven-year-old found an unattended gun in his home and shot himself in the head. T-Keeyha Lane, a woman who lived with the boy and his mother, was arrested and charged with second degree child abuse, presumably for having left the gun where the boy could gain access to it. The boy is hospitalized in critical condition.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the child as well as their family and friends,” the local police chief said. “We would like to remind everyone to please keep firearms secured.”
