According to police, multiple rounds were fired in a domestic violence incident in a neighboring unit.  One of the rounds apparently passed through an apartment wall and struck the woman in the back.

A Vermont hunter was struck by a bullet and seriously injured when another man mistook him for a bear. The injured man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after the incident. Neither of the hunters was wearing blaze orange when the incident occurred.  A hunter safety expert stated, “studies have shown wearing blaze orange makes you seven times more visible to others in the woods.” The hunter who caused the injury, Alex Gaudette, 25, of Bolton is facing charges of aggravated assault and negligent use of a gun.

A Tennessee man is in critical condition after accidentally shooting himself at a college football game.  It is unclear how the incident occurred, or whether state law allows carry at crowded sporting events.

Finally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, two officers were investigating a hit-and-run crash when one officer’s gun inadvertently discharged while in his holster, striking a 41-year-old officer in the leg.  The injuries to the officer who was shot are not considered life-threatening. It is unclear why a holstered gun fired in connection with the gun accident.
