Two children were killed and two were injured by unintended gun violence today.
In Shreveport, Louisiana, 13-year old Landry Anglin was shot and killed as an innocent bystander when a round was fired from a vehicle in a rolling gun battle. Landry was a middle school student and was inside a home when she was struck.
Caleb Ladehoff, age 17, died of a gunshot wound while hunting with friends in Aurora, Nebraska. Local authorities are investigating the incident. No specific circumstances have been released. “It is with broken hearts that we share that Caleb Ladehoff passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by his family. We rejoice that he is now fully restored and in the presence of his Savior. Please continue to pray for the family as they walk the road ahead,” the local Christian Resource Center offered.
In Memphis, Tennessee, an 11-year old girl was struck in the leg as an innocent bystander when an unidentified man fired shots into a crowd consisting of mostly children. “She just was just saying she didn’t want to die, she was just like ‘I just don’t want to die.’ I was like you’re not going to die,” a relative said.
A six-year old girl in Brookhaven, Mississippi was shot and injured when a man on a motorcycle fired a shot into her home. The motive for the shooting is unclear. Police are asking for help in identifying the shooter.
