Six women and a toddler were struck by stray bullets in four incidents today. Although the shooters may have had violent intent, all of the women struck were not intended targets.
In Aurora, Colorado, numerous shots were fired by two or more shooters outside an apartment complex. Two of the rounds passed into the building. A mother and her four-year old child were struck and injured. Neither suffered life-threatening wounds.
In Manhattan, New York, a 19-year old and a 17-year old were caught between feuding groups of men. Both women were shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital.
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to a police report, two adult women were caught in the cross-fire in a feud among juvenile shooters. Both were struck and injured. They are hospitalized in stable condition.
And in Brooklyn, New York, a man and his girlfriend were playing with a .22 caliber pistol in their bedroom when the woman was accidentally struck in the chest. She is in critical condition at the hospital. Her boyfriend, Kevin Hor, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
