At a backyard barbecue in Grand Prairie, Texas, Darwing Gloria, age 37, displayed a handgun and accidentally shot and killed an acquaintance, Antelmo Carrizales-Ramos, age 47. Gloria was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Texas is a state that is moving toward authorizing permitless public carry, which would inevitably mean more guns would be present in more public places.
