In Woodbridge, Virginia, Kaitlyn Marie Roulten Ellis, a 29-year old mother of two, was arrested after she negligently discharged a gun while caring for her two daughters, a 1-month old and a four-year old. Ms. Roulten Ellis was handling a gun when it discharged and struck her in the arm. She was arrested after being treated at the hospital.
Police had been called for a welfare check at the home and discovered the accidental shooting upon arrival. Ms. Roulten Ellis was charged with two counts of child neglect and one count of reckless handling of a firearm.
