Two Children Accidentally Shot and Killed by Relatives

A six-year-old girl from Eutawville, South Carolina, died after she was unintentionally shot in the head by her seven-year-old brother. It is not known how the brother found the gun, and whether the parents were at home or will face charges. Officials are investigating. “We are broken-hearted over this tragic loss of a little princess,” said the sheriff.

And in an apartment in Houston Texas, 11-year-old Jason Henriquez was killed after being accidentally shot in the head by a 14-year-old relative. A third relative, 17-year-old Christopher Reyes Henriquez, had brought the gun over to show it off to his two younger family members. He placed the gun on a bed, and the 14-year-old girl picked it up and pulled the trigger not knowing it was loaded. Jason was pronounced dead at the scene. Distraught, Christopher grabbed the gun and ran out, shooting himself behind the complex. He later died at the hospital. “Very tragic scene,” said the assistant police chief.
