Today’s Unintentional Shootings

In the Bronx, New York, after shooting his 32-year-old roommate in the head, killing him, the shooter fled down the apartment building stairwell and unintentionally shot and killed himself . Another man, 56, was grazed in the cheek during the incident. According to a detective on the case, the 28-year-old gunman tripped and fell with his finger still on the trigger, fatally shooting himself in the neck.

In South Bend, Indiana, a man is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being accidentally shot.

In Washington, Pennsylvania, a 15-year-old girl who was accidentally shot in the leg has been released from the hospital. Police are investigating.

A family member tried to intervene when an armed 54-year-old man experienced a mental health crisis in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. During the struggle, a 70-year-old family member was unintentionally shot in the arm. The victim was taken to the hospital and later released. After a four hour standoff with the shooter, the SWAT team entered the home and took the man into custody.
