Resident Shot After Being Mistaken for Intruder

Trying to enter the home where they live in Riverside, Ohio, a person was unintentionally shot in the foot by the homeowner. Neighbors reported hearing between five and eight shots. “After speaking to the residents, it was determined that the homeowner may have believed that a subject was attempting to break into the residence, and the homeowner fired the shots from inside the home,” said the police chief. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting is under investigation.
