12-year-old Boy Killed in Accidental Discharge

Responding to a call about a fight with weapons in Clayton, North Carolina, police found 12-year-old Kyrell Stewart in an apartment suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Police estimated that 20 to 30 people were inside the apartment at the time. According to witnesses, the boy was accidentally shot when some of the people tried to hide weapons from the officers. Investigators determined that Tyrin Anthony Zah’rel was holding the weapon when it fired. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
