Boy Shot By Friend Showing Off Rifle

In Greenwood, Indiana, a juvenile is recovering at home after being accidentally shot by a friend with a .22 caliber rifle. The victim and two other boys were talking about guns, when one of them got a pistol and a bolt action rifle out of a storage closet. The pistol didn’t fire when the boy pulled the trigger. The rifle also didn’t fire the first time he pulled the bolt, however when he pulled the bolt a second time, it fired, hitting the victim in the thigh. Adults were upstairs asleep at the time of the shooting. Detectives continue to investigate, with charges being considered.
