Unintentional Shootings Injure Two Children in Memphis
In Memphis, Tennessee, a 12-year-old girl was shot in the foot with a Glock 9mm handgun her nine-year-old sister was playing with. The younger sister took the gun from a dresser in the master bedroom thinking it was a BB gun. The owner of the gun, and the children’s guardian, was at work when the accident happened. Three other relatives were in the home at the time; two said they were playing video games, and the third briefly left to go to the store.
And a boy in northeast Memphis accidentally shot himself and was taken to the hospital for treatment. One person has been detained, as police continue to investigate.
