Four-year-old Boy Killed, Two Other People Wounded, in Accidental Shootings

In Oskaloosa, Iowa, a four-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene from an accidental discharge. Few details have been reported in this ongoing investigation.

A 27-year-old man was injured in an unintentional shooting in an apartment In Lafayette, Indiana. The gunshot wound between his neck and shoulder is not considered life-threatening, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police recovered the gun and are continuing to investigate.

Also, after a few days of threats on social media, the elementary, middle, and high schools in Trion, Georgia, were placed on a “hard lockdown,” while law enforcement went through every locker, vehicle, bookbag, etc. No weapons were found, but an officer unintentionally shot himself with his own weapon while in the 2nd and 3rd grade hallway. He is expected to recover, but has been placed on administrative leave while officials investigate.
