Two People Injured in Accidental Shootings
A woman was struck in the stomach by a bullet that came through her kitchen wall in Stafford, Virginia. Her neighbor, Derek Avery-Craft, admitted to officers that he had pulled the trigger of a handgun that had a round in the chamber. The bullet traveled through his garage, across the roughly 200 feet between their properties, and through the victim’s kitchen wall striking a can she was holding before entering her torso. She was taken to the hospital, and Avery-Craft has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
And in Lafayette, Indiana, a man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. It appears that the man shot himself accidentally. Police are investigating the shooting.
