Two Adolescent Boys Injured in Separate Accidental Shootings
In New Carlisle, Ohio, a 10-year-old boy with special needs was seriously injured after he found a loaded gun in a car and accidentally shot himself in the chest. He underwent surgery at the hospital and is expected to survive. He was visiting a relative with at least one of his parents, when he took the keys to a locked car, and retrieved a gun that was stored there in a holster. The sheriff’s office doesn’t expect fo file any charges in what they call a “fluke tragedy.”
A 12-year-old boy in Detroit, Michigan, is listed in stable condition at the hospital, after he found a loaded, unsecured gun inside a home and unintentionally shot himself. Police recovered the gun and are continuing to investigate.
