Two People are Accidentally Shot in Separate Incidents
In Coos Bay, Oregon, three men and three dogs were involved in a dispute that resulted in a dog and a man sustaining gunshot wounds. Robert Pierce, 57, shot at one of the dogs that was attacking him, hitting the dog and one of the men. The man and the dog both received treatment, and Pierce has been charged with assault 4, unlawful use of a weapon, and harassment. Police continue to investigate.
And in Cranston, Rhode Island, a deputy sheriff’s gun accidentally discharged hitting another deputy sheriff in the leg. The injury is not considered life-threatening. They were both outside a correctional institute where they are employed in the unit that takes inmates to and from court. State police are investigating.
