One Person Dead, Five Wounded in Unintentional Shootings
A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after shooting himself in the head in Cincinnati, Ohio. Laronn Ellison 21, left a firearm unsecured enabling the child to gain access it. Both he and Antonia Barrow, 43 were arraigned on charges of child endangering and tampering with evidence.
In Hereford, Arizona, a person died when two people were handling a gun that unintentionally fired. Few details but there is ongoing investigation.
A 28-year-old man was sitting in a barbershop in St. Louis, Missouri, when a gun owned by the man sitting next to him unintentionally fired striking him in the arm. The gun’s owner, Antoine T. Bankhead, 41, fled the scene but witnesses helped police identify him. He has been charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
In Lubbock, Texas, a 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he unintentionally shot himself. According to police, the boy was in a vehicle with four other people when the shooting occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
In a McDonald’s parking lot in Aberdeen, North Carolina, a man was injured when a gun in his pocket fell out, hit the pavement and unintentionally fired into his foot. Police say he will be charged with the discharge of firearm in the city limits and possession of drug paraphernalia.
And at a gun club in Enumclaw, Washington, someone was accidentally shot in the upper thigh and taken to the hospital for treatment. No other information has been reported.
