Toddlers Injured After Finding Loaded Gun, and Woman is Killed in Accidental Shooting During Night of Drinking
In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a toddler found a loaded gun in the backyard of a home and accidentally shot themself and another toddler. Police confirmed that the children involved in the incident were a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old, but they have not confirmed who the gun belonged to. Both children were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
At a residence in Phoenix, Arizona, a group of people were drinking and handling a gun that resulted in 25-year-old Jennifer Jazmin’s death. The gun’s owner, Steven Ray Gault III, 24, brought his green and black semiautomatic handgun to the home and has been charged with manslaughter. Gault was handling the gun when it went off, and in the probable cause statement he said it was not his intention to shoot Jazmin.
