6-year-old and Two Men Killed In Unintentional Shootings
Avery Davis, a 6-year-old, was killed in a hunting accident in Cameron, South Carolina. Avery was in an elevated stand at the time, when it appears he was struck by a stray shotgun pellet fired by someone on the ground. Investigators are waiting for the coroner’s report, but the incident has been determined to be an accident. According to Avery’s father, his organs have been donated, saving four lives.
A man in Guthrie, Oklahoma died after accidentally shooting himself in the chest while cleaning a gun. He had called 911 saying he shot himself and was losing blood. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
And in Bountiful, Utah, 20-year-old Jacob Hess died from a single gunshot wound when a gun he and two other high school friends were handling unintentionally fired. One of the friends, Dylan Goodin, 21, who sustained a minor injury during the incident, has been booked on suspicion of manslaughter, illegal gun possession and drug possession.
