Baby Dies After Stray Bullet Strikes Pregnant Woman

A woman, who was eight months pregnant, was riding on a bus In Holyoke, Massachusetts, when she was struck by a stray bullet. She was critically injured, but the baby was delivered, and then died. According to the district attorney’s office, a gunfight broke out between three men on the street, and as the bus passed by, one round hit the bus striking the pregnant woman. Alejandro Ramos, 22, and Johnluis Sanchez, 30, have been charged with murder in the shooting, and law enforcement is looking for a third man. The shooting remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe page was set up by family members of the woman. “[O]ur sister-in-law was a victim in the shooting and was injured causing the death of our unborn nephew. … We are all heartbroken.”
