Three People Dead, Three Wounded in Unintentional Shootings
A gun unintentionally discharged in a vehicle in Aurora, Colorado, killing one man and injuring another. Investigators think that the 47-year-old passenger was handling a gun inside the car, when it went off, fatally striking the 21-year-old driver and injuring himself. Charges are pending further investigation.
In Barboursville, West Virginia, Dillon Horn, 17 was killed in an accidental shooting. He was found on the front porch of a home where three other juveniles were at the time of the shooting, and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information has been released.
Two women were innocent bystanders, when a gun was discharged during a dispute between two men in the Bronx, New York. One of the women, 71-year-old Enriqueta Rivera, was waiting to cross the street when a bullet struck her in the back and then pierced her heart, killing her. And a nearby vendor, Albertina Reyes, 34, was also struck by a stray bullet, but is expected to survive her injuries. Police are investigating.
And a man in Arnold, Pennsylvania accidentally shot himself in the groin. He was treated and released from the hospital.
