Three Indianapolis Children Hurt in Unintentional Shootings
During a violent weekend, three children were unintentionally shot in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday.
2:00 p.m.: Two juveniles were apparently handling a gun when it accidentally fired, striking a 13-year-old. The victim is hospitalized in critical condition. A 16-year-old boy was arrested for aggravated battery; the prosecutor’s office will determine final charges.
5:00 p.m.: An 8-year-old is in stable condition after being wounded by an accidental, self-inflicted shooting. No other information is reported.
10:00 p.m.: An 11-year-old girl was accidentally shot and transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police say that two children were looking at a gun when it discharged. “This is another case of kids playing with guns and, unfortunately, something happened and the gun went off,” said the police captain.
