Man Charged After Lying About Accidental Shooting

In Rockford, Illinois, Corey Jackson, 18, walked into the local hospital with a gunshot wound to his ankle. He initially told police that he was walking near a convenience store when someone shot him. Upon further investigation, police believe that Jackson unintentionally shot himself. They discovered weapons and other related items in his home. He has been charged on 5 counts, including possession of a machine gun.
