Two Florida Women Shot, One While Sitting on a Second-Story Balcony

Anne Pierre Louis, a 77-year-old grandmother from Delray Beach, Florida, was shot while sitting on the second-story balcony of her apartment. Paramedics took her to a local hospital in critical condition. Police say the woman was an innocent bystander but the circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation. Delray Beach Fire Rescue spokeswoman Dani Moschella said, “This is a mystery at this moment.” Three local schools were placed on limited movement for a brief time following the shooting.

In Mims, Florida, another woman is in the hospital in critical condition after being shot in the head in her home. Investigators indicate the shooting was accidental, but they are conducting interviews and will search the residence for more information.
