As gun violence continues to plague Cleveland, Ohio, 87-year old Frances Black was shot in the head and killed by her 54-year old daughter in a shooting that appears to have been accidental.  Few details have been reported, but police interviewed Ms. Black’s daughter without arresting her.  They appear to be treating the shooting as unintentional.

The incident is the second one this month in which a Cleveland parent was shot in the head and killed by an adult child.  In the other incident, on May 4, the shooter, Travis Foster, claimed that a shotgun went off accidentally.  However, a witness says otherwise and Foster has been charged with aggravated murder.

 In a third incident in Northern Ohio this month, 39-year old Daryl Thaxton of Maple Heights, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, shot and killed his mother outside the window of a day care classroom on May 9.  Thaxton is also charged with aggravated murder.

Also in Ohio, but in Forest Park, near Cincinnati, a 15-year old this month shot his father on May 11 in an argument over his bedtime.  That man is expected to survive.
