In Chicago, Illinois, a seven-year old took a gun to school in a backpack and it “accidentally discharged while in a classroom.”  The gun was reportedly still in the backpack when it discharged. Another child suffered a graze wound to the stomach. 

The child’s mother, Tatanina Kelly, was arrested and charged with three misdemeanor counts of child endangerment.  Both the child who took the gun to school and the injured child are second graders.
