A Jacksonville, North Carolina police officer accidentally shot his 15-year old son in the head. The injury is considered life-threatening.  Reported details are scarce other than a statement that preliminary indicators suggest that the shooting was accidental.  There is an ongoing investigation.

Tiffani Tant, age 18 of Gladewater, Texas was accidentally shot and killed by a juvenile family member.  There is an ongoing investigation, but no further information was released.

Tant was a senior at White Oaks High School. “We are heartbroken for her family, our student body and staff,” a school office said. “Upon return from Christmas break, grief counselors will be available on the high school campus for students and staff. We ask that the White Oak community lift up the family and our student body during this very difficult time.”
