A 22-year old was killed and three children were seriously injured in gun accidents today.
In Dunmore, Pennsylvania, 22-year old Tyler Sitar was accidentally shot in the stomach by his friend Luigi Lorusso, who was handling a gun. Sitar died of his wound and Lorusso was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Another Columbus, Ohio child, this time a five-year old, was injured today in a gun accident. The boy’s mother, who was intoxicated at the time of the accident, had been waving a gun around, but was attempting to put it away when it discharged and struck her son. The boy was shot in the leg and is in stable condition. His mother, Trenise Turner, was arrested and charged with endangering children and recklessly causing serious physical harm.
In Wyoming, Michigan, a four-year old was in critical condition after an accidental shooting. Although local police announced that the shooting was accidental, no other information is available.
In Houston Texas, a 13-year old boy was shot in the hip when a gun fell out of a box. Witnesses said they were moving things when the gun fell and the boy was struck. There is no report of the boy’s condition.
