A 14-year old was killed and a 16-year old was injured in separate gun accidents today.
The 14-year old died after accidentally shooting himself in a residence on Butter and Egg Road in Madison County, Alabama. There is no reporting about how he got his hands on a gun. He was found dead when paramedics arrived.
The 16-year old was injured in a Janesville, Wisconsin incident involving two other teenagers in which one of them was handling a gun which fired accidentally. The bullet passed through the victim’s hip, a television, and a window before exiting the residence where the incident occurred. Again, there is no reporting on how the teenagers got a hold of the gun.
In connection with the latter incident, a 16-year has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.
