An 8-year old boy was accidentally shot in Milwaukee, Wisconsin today inside his home by a bullet fired outside. The report does not include information about the boy's condition. A 16-year old was later arrested for firing indiscriminately into the home.

"If children and women in our city are not safe, nobody is safe," said Reggie Moore with the Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention. "It’s a tragic incident in our city that should not only outrage us all, but should also motivate us to demand there is investment and support to do everything to reduce violence," said Moore.

According to the report, “[t]he shooting happened on the heels of Milwaukee's most violent year. In 2020, 190 people were killed. Twenty-seven of those homicides involved children. Seventy-two kids were shot and survived.”
