Ten-year-old Boy is Unintentionally Shot and Killed

Ten-year-old Aidyn Hansen was unintentionally shot and killed in South Beloit, Illinois. A 30-year-old man has been charged with child endangerment as detectives continue to investigate. The specific circumstances of the incident have not been reported.

Aidyn’s fourth grade teacher said everyone wanted to be his partner in class. “He was loved by his classmates...He was missed when he was absent, and the kids celebrated when he came back to school...I would hear them say, ‘Aidyn’s back, Aidyn’s here!’” He leaves behind a loving family, including a 2-year-old brother and a 6-year-old sister he was teaching to read.

Aidyn’s mother said that she knows what Aidyn would have said when she gets angry about his death. “Mommy, it was an accident. Mom, you have to forgive.”
