Two Accidental Shootings Involving Teens Leaves One Dead and One Injured

A 16-year-old boy in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was killed when a gun he and 15-year-old girl were handling accidentally discharged. He was shot once in the face and died later at the hospital. No other details have been reported as police continue to investigate.

Tallahassee, Florida, has seen a surge of accidental shootings in September. Today, a 13-year-old girl was standing next to Javen Parker, 18, when he unintentionally shot her in the hand. Parker was walking with the girl, when he noticed a car slowing as it drove past them, and according to the arrest report “...he removed the firearm from his jacket pocket, for protection, if individuals inside the vehicle began to shoot at them.” Parker has been charged with negligence, carrying an unlicensed firearm and improper exhibit of a firearm.
