One-year-old Child Accidentally Shot and Killed

Authorities did not reveal the circumstances that led up to the accidental shooting death of a one-year-old child in Elliston, Virginia. The child was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries. Jarron Shirk, age 29, faces multiple charges including felony homicide, child abuse and neglect, child endangerment, and charges related to allowing children access to a firearm. The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate.
