Two Children Injured After Being Accidentally Shot
A seven-year-old child in Augusta, Georgia, was shot in the finger by a nine-year-old boy playing with a gun he found that unintentionally discharged. The gun belonged to the boyfriend of the boy’s mother. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The shooting is under investigation.
And a father in Oakley, California, accidentally shot his five-year-old son in the chest, while cleaning his AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle. The father told police he accidentally pulled the trigger during the cleaning, and didn’t think the gun was loaded. The child was airlifted to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
