Three People Killed in Accidental Shootings
In his home in Ellenwood, Georgia, seven-year-old Anthony B. Jones III, was killed while he played with a loaded gun that unintentionally fired. Police continue to investigate the shooting, and it is unclear if anyone will be charged.
A 12-year-old boy mishandled a loaded gun in La Grange, Georgia, and accidentally shot and killed 20-year-old Nyquarious Gates. The investigation revealed that the gun belonged to Azion Avery, age 19, and it had been reported stolen. The 12-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm under 18. Avery was charged with false statements, furnishing a firearm to a minor, reckless conduct, theft by receiving stolen firearm and felony involuntary manslaughter.
And in a home in Wilson, North Carolina, a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot by a 15-year-old boy. The victim was airlifted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 15-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a stolen firearm.
