Three Children Injured in Unintentional Shootings

A boy in Eagan, Minnesota, accidentally shot himself in the abdomen and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The boy’s condition was not reported. Police continue to investigate.

An 11-year-old boy was accidentally shot during a physical altercation between multiple adult women at an Atlanta, Georgia apartment complex. One of the women fired a rifle into the air; the bullet struck the child. The incident is being investigated to determine the circumstances of the shooting.

And a six-year-old child shot his 13-year-old brother in the shoulder with a .556-caliber rifle retrieved from a bedroom in a Trinity, Alabama home. The brothers are the children of a state representative. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office is investigating; final findings will be sent to the district attorney’s office.
