Six-year-old Girl in Stable Condition After Shooting Herself
A six-year-old girl in Detroit, Michigan, is in stable condition after shooting herself in the shoulder and thumb with an unsecured gun. Her father, Marcellis Dushaun Williams, age 39, was charged with violating Michigan’s safe storage law.
“We have had many tragedies in Wayne County where children have died or suffered serious injury because the adults in their lives did not take a few minutes to ensure that their deadly weapons were secured. I have been preaching about this for over ten years. Hopefully one day I won’t have to,” said the county prosecutor.
