Toddler and Teen Injured After Shooting Themselves
A three-year-old boy is expected to recover after shooting himself in the hand with a semi-automatic handgun he found in an apartment in Warren, Michigan. The boy’s mother came with him to the hospital. Police recovered the gun and plan to interview another adult about the circumstances of the shooting. They will continue to investigate to determine if any charges will be filed, including a violation of the state’s safe storage law.
And in Chicago, Illinois, a 13-year-old boy shot himself in the hand and was treated at the scene by the fire department before they took him to the hospital. He is listed in good condition. The gun was recovered and officials are investigating.
