Two Children Shot, Fifth Grader is Killed

A fifth-grade student was killed after being accidentally shot in their home in Moberly, Missouri. The school district released a statement noting that it was providing counseling and support to students and staff. “Our hearts are with the student’s family, friends, classmates, and all affected by this tragic loss…Out of respect for the family, no further details will be released at this time.”

And a four-year-old is in stable condition after being shot in the chest in an apartment in Muskegon, Michigan. It was originally thought that the bullet came from an attached apartment, but police later determined that the victim was in the apartment where the shooting occurred. Breyon Burrows, age 22, has been charged with tampering with evidence, careless discharge causing injury or death, and lying to a police officer.
