Teen Girl Shot Waiting to Buy Movie Tickets
Victoria Hernandez, a 14-year-old girl, was shot in the stomach and grazed on her arm waiting in line to buy tickets to a movie outside a mall in Victorville, California. She is in stable condition and recovering at the hospital. On a GoFundMe page set up by her father, “[s]he was an innocent bystander just there to watch a movie when these teenagers started an argument with other kids, and weapons were brought out, leading to a round of shooting.”
The mall was evacuated, though it reopened the next day. Glass windows at the movie theater were shattered by bullets, shuttering the theater until repairs can be made. Someone believed to be involved in the shooting has been arrested, but this remains an active investigation.
