Four-year-old Boy Fatally Shot

In a home in San Antonio, Texas, four-year-old Josiah Cabral sustained a gunshot wound, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The police chief said the boy, his mother, who is in her 40s, and his father, who is in his 50s, were the only people in the house at the time of the shooting. Both parents were detained at the scene. The chief said a handgun was involved, but other circumstances of the shooting remain unclear as police continue to investigate.

Josiah attended the local elementary school. The principal sent out a letter to the school community, calling Josiah’s death “…a loss that touches all of us—our students, our staff, and the community as a whole. Our thoughts are with the family during this heartbreaking time.”
