Teen Shoots Himself in the Leg Inside Hospital

A teenager shot himself in the leg inside a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, while he waited for his mother who had a scheduled appointment. She had left her purse that contained a gun with her son. He grabbed the gun and unintentionally fired it, striking himself in the leg. The boy was treated by hospital staff and is recovering; the gun was secured. The shooting is under investigation.
